MEET OUR COMMENCEMENT SPEAKER
Join us in warmly welcoming Department of Education Secretary Juan Edgardo “Sonny” M. Angara as the guest speaker for the 27th Commencement Exercises of the University of the Philippines Mindanao.
With over two decades of distinguished public service—including nine years as Congressman for the Province of Aurora and eleven years as Senator—Secretary Angara has authored more than 300 laws, many of which have significantly shaped the Philippine education system. His legislative work includes landmark policies such as free kindergarten, free college education, the Anti-Bullying Act, the Ladderized Education Act, and the Second Congressional Commission on Education (EDCOM II), among many others.
We look forward to the insight and inspiration he will share with our graduates on 10 July 2025 at the UP Mindanao Atrium.
