Webinar #297
August 28, 2026 (Friday), 12:00 noon
GLP-1 Meds for Diabetes & Weight Management:
Epektibo Nga Ba?

The global landscape of cardiometabolic healthcare is undergoing a paradigm shift, propelled by the unprecedented therapeutic evolution of glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1 RAs) and dual incretin therapies. Originally developed to enhance glucose-dependent insulin secretion in type 2 diabetes mellitus, these agents have demonstrated profound systemic impact across the continuum of metabolic dysregulation, obesity management, and organ protection. As therapeutic indications expand, frontline healthcare professionals and informed clinical allies face the critical imperative of translating complex endocrine science into effective, compassionate, and precise multidisciplinary patient care.

In this week’s episode, we will examine the cellular mechanisms and real-world utility of GLP-1 therapy. We will discuss the biomolecular pathways through which incretin mimetics regulate pancreatic beta-cell response, inhibit postprandial glucagon secretion, attenuate central nervous system appetite centers, and delay gastric motility. Beyond glycemic optimization and weight reduction, we will contextualize compelling clinical outcome data highlighting significant reductions in major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE), improvements in renal biomarkers, and favorable modifications in systemic vascular inflammation.

Designed to bridge complex pharmacology with day-to-day practice, this interactive symposium equips the entire multidisciplinary team with actionable insights on patient selection criteria, step-up titration strategies, adverse event mitigation (particularly gastrointestinal tolerability), and long-term treatment adherence. Our speaker is Dr. Kenneth Patrick L. Ligaray, who is a Clinical Associate Professor at the School of Medicine and Public Health at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, WI, USA.

Join us to explore how these transformative therapies are redefining chronic disease management and to empower your clinical practice with the scientific knowledge necessary to elevate patient outcomes.
