“Including the Public in Managing and Protecting Underwater Cultural Heritage”

The underwater cultural heritage of the Philippines is still largely underappreciated, so how can ✨you and I✨ or even local residents protect, manage, and promote it even if we aren’t ✨experts✨?

Join us on October 1, 2026 (Thursday) at the UP School of Archaeology (Albert Hall) Classrooms A & B from 2:00pm to 3:00pm, as Dr. Andrew Viduka, founder of the Gathering Information via Recreational and Technical (GIRT) Scientific Divers, delivers a special Binalot Talk on “Including the Public in Managing and Protecting Underwater Cultural Heritage” via the World Expert Lecture Series (WELS) of the UP Office of International Linkages (OIL).

Dr. Viduka’s Australian case study demonstrates how ✨citizen science✨ can be powerful in the protection and management of underwater cultural heritage, and can be replicated by many other fields too.

Curious and interested? Register via https://bit.ly/01Oct26BinalotTalks or scan the QR code below. It will be held in-person only but remains free and open to all.
