It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Mr. Ulysses B. Alama earlier today, October 10, 2023.
Known to many as Sir Yuls, he served as the President of the All UP Workers Union Iloilo Chapter from July 25, 2022 to September 15, 2022 and September 16, 2022 to June 27, 2023. He started his employment at UP Visayas on March 16, 1982 as Marine Engineman. He eventually transferred to the Security Service Force (SSF) where he remained until his retirement, which took effect on September 1, 2023. In total, he served the university for 41 years.
He is remembered by his colleagues and friends as someone accommodating, friendly, and dedicated.
