Evelina Asuncion Pangalangan
August 17, 1935- March 15, 2024
The administration, faculty, REPS and staff of the College of Social Work and Community Development, University of the Philippines extends its heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of retired Professor Evelina Asuncion Pangalangan who passed on in New York City on March 15, 2024 at the age of 88.
Prof. Pangalangan was a retired faculty of Social Work and served as Dean of the CSWCD from 1994-2000. She also served as President of the National Association of Social Work Education, Inc. (NASWEI), the standard bearer of social work education in the country.
The CSWCD community is deeply saddened by the passing of Dean Evelyn. She was a well-respected faculty and mentor to countless Social Work graduates, a caring mother and wife to her family, a compassionate leader, and a well-loved colleague.
Rest in peace, Dean Evelyn. We shall forever be grateful for your generosity and love for the CSWCD.
