Its publication and distribution are managed by the UP Office of Alumni Relations with the Director as the managing editor. With the objective of giving UP alumni a continuing communication link and a sense of connection to the University and alumni, the Carillon contains original feature articles from the different UP Constituent Universities, UP alumni chapters, and individual alumni.
It has been published as a quarterly newsletter since the 1950s, but was discontinued in 2008 due to the financial issues. In 2017, the Carillon was re-launched as an annual full-color magazine to meet the information needs of our alumni who prefer a hard copy over the online magazine option.
The 2024 issue features the UP Open University (UPOU), with the UPOU Oblation conceptualized and sculpted by Professor Emeritus Grace Javier Alfonso as the cover photo. It also highlights their preparation for the celebration of its 30th anniversary, marking three decades of excellence and leadership in open and distance innovative education.
