The Department of Biology and the Applied Microbiology for Health and Environment Research Group (AMHERG) invites researchers and personnel from private and government agencies involved in wastewater management to participate in a specialized workshop designed to enhance skills in molecular biology techniques for wastewater analysis.

🎯 Target Participants: Researchers and practitioners working with wastewater samples.
Workshop Objectives
Participants will gain hands-on experience and knowledge in:
– DNA isolation from bacteria recovered from wastewater.
– Community DNA extraction from wastewater samples.
– PCR amplification of 16S rRNA for microbial profiling.
– qPCR techniques for detecting antibiotic resistance genes.
